How do you know if you are being discriminated against in the workplace?

On Behalf of Mann Law Firm, P.C. | Mar 14, 2025 | Employment Law

If you are a member of a protected class based on your race, ethnicity, religion, age, orientation, disability, national origin, or gender, and your employer or co-worker treats you disparately than similarly situated members of a different class of individuals, you may be the victim of discrimination. If you are disciplined more harshly, given lesser benefits, less salary, harassed, hostile environment, given less desirable work to do, or receive discriminatory statements on a regular basis, you might be the victim of discrimination. Your employer could be in violation of Massachusetts General Laws 151B, see http://malegislature.gov/Laws/GeneralLaws/PartI/TitleXXI/chapter151B or Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, see www.eeoc.gov/laws/statutes/titlevii.cfm

If you feel like you are being treated differently than similarly situated co-workers, those with same title, job status, or salary, and it might be because of something unrelated to job performance, you may want to consult with an attorney. There is no reason for you to put up with that type of conduct. A lawyer at Mann Law Firm P.C. can help you determine if your claims are meritorious, and if so, work with you to develop your claims to help you accomplish your goal of either freeing the workplace of discrimination or the discriminatory actor, or separating from the company and negotiating a severance package and separation agreement.
