In the case of Kamal Aly v. The Mohegan Council, Boy Scouts of America, the plaintiff claimed that he was denied training and promotion opportunities because of his national origin and religion. The case was held in Federal court in Worcester from September 26-30, 2011 before the honorable F. Dennis Saylor, IV. After deliberating for just under three hours the jury returned a verdict in favor of the plaintiff, awarding him $152,500.00 for back pay and $300,000.00 in punitive damages.
